Just like when you listen to music, there are a lot of subtle differences in the way people talk around you. If you pick up something that’s not right, you might hear it differently.
So far, it seems like everyone is picking up on that. People are saying things like, “oh, well if you’re not listening to me, you’re not listening to me,” and “don’t you know you’re being monitored?”. I think what’s really annoying is that we constantly have to monitor our own actions. It’s a lot more annoying than the phone company.
I know what you’re thinking: “well if I was on the phone, I’d have to get off and listen to that, right?” Its possible. But I think that a lot of people would rather just not be on the phone. I think they just feel scared to be on the phone.
The idea of a phone company monitoring us is basically a myth. When you talk on the phone, the phone company monitors your every move. A lot of people are convinced that you could be being monitored, but the phone companies monitor just like any other number. If you call a number and you know the phone company is monitoring, you can’t just go off and do something else while you’re on hold. You have to put your mobile device down.
If you use your device, they can track not only where you are, but any location youve been to. If youve been to a location, they can put up a map of that location. They can put up a map of where youve been in your phone. They can put up a map of your device itself. Then they can record the location of those two things.
The phone companies also can put up a lot of information about your internet usage. They can put up a map of what sites you’ve visited, their IP addresses, and probably in some cases even your browser. This is a huge area of research that could prove very interesting.
This doesn’t just give us a map of where we have been, it gives us a map of what we’ve done. We use the same map to find our way. The phone companies have a huge amount of information about us. They can put up a map of the Internet. Or they can put up a map of where weve been in the last few days.
